Jackal

Jackal is a partnership card game where conventions play a huge part.

Equipment:
4 players
Standard deck of 52 cards
Pen and paper for scorekeeping

Preparations:
Divide the players into two teams of two players. Seat the players so that every player sits in between two opponents.

How to play a deal:
The cards are shuffled and dealt so that every player gets 13 cards.

In each turn the player in turn simply plays one card from his hand face up on the table. It can be any card.

Multi-rank trick-taking

This is a partnership trick-taking game for four players. The speciality of the game is that each card (with a few exceptions) belongs to several suits.

Preparations
You need:

  • 4 players
  • printed card faces (see files section)
  • 39 playing-cards (any)
  • 39 card sleeves with opaque backs
  • Pen and paper for keeping track of the score

Fireplace Poker

Fireplace Poker is a Poker - Rummy - beating game hybrid for two players.

Equipment

  • 2 players
  • 5 standard 52 card decks shuffled together, no jokers
  • A cribbage board or 62 poker chips, each worth one point.

Deal
The five decks are shuffled together so that they form one huge deck. Each player is dealt a hand of 13 cards. The rest of the cards form the draw deck.
