Groundhog gRumble!

Overview
Hibernating is hard work. Especially if your neighbors are trying to steal your food! In this game for two players, rival groundhog colonies compete to collect resources for the long winter ahead.

Setup
The "board" consists of the "Surface Strip", which is placed at the top of the play area. Shuffle the cards and place them on the House. Deal five cards to each player.

Turns
Choose either player to go first. In each turn, a player must draw one card, and place a card from their hand onto the board (groundhogs are busy, and must always be doing SOMETHING). If there are no available places to play any of their cards, the player may show their cards to their opponent, discard them, and take five new cards from the pile, completing their turn. Play proceeds to the other player.

Winning
Play ends when all cards have been played, or neither player has a legal place to play a card and no cards remain in the House.

Also, finding out about the "Rock-Chuck"

Makes me think there's a place for substantial construction of earthworks in this game. Maybe you harvest stones from one place to block off your opponents in another?

Best marmot picture ever!

If this ever gets complete enough to require a mascot, it should be this guy: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Marmot-edit1.jpg
